This guide explains how to get started with Flipit during the Beta phase, including how to access the platform, set up your account, and explore its features.

Prior Knowledge  

Before you begin using Flipit, you may want to familiarize yourself with the following concepts:

  • Browser extensions: Flipit can be accessed through a browser extension or by directly visiting specific URLs.
  • Community-verified content: Flipit emphasizes community engagement and content verification.
  • Flipit Overview: Flipit operates a decentralized node network that performs critical functions such as content hosting, decentralized data storage through IPFS, and community governance, ensuring the platform’s reliability, security, and scalability. 

Accessing Flipit (Beta)

During the Beta phase, users can gain access to Flipit by applying for early access. This requires an invite code or secret code for registration through the platform's website. Follow these steps to get started:

1. Sign up for Beta access:

Visit the Flipit website and register for Beta access by entering your email or a secret code (if available).

Alternatively, you can join the Flipit or LFG Discord communities to stay updated on new Beta invites and other important announcements.

2. Download the Flipit browser extension and access content:

• Install the Flipit browser extension (available for major browsers like Chrome, Firefox, etc.).

• Click Add to Chrome.

• Click Add extension.

• After installing, it's recommended to pin it for easy access and management. Click on the puzzle piece icon (or your browser's equivalent) in the toolbar to view your installed extensions and click the pin icon next to the Flipit extension.

• Once pinned, you can easily access more Flipit options by right-clicking its icon in the toolbar and selecting Options.

• From here, you can manage your extension settings, such as enabling or disabling features, and customizing how the extension behaves on different websites.

• If you prefer, you can also access the backside of any webpage by visiting flipit.com/[THEURL]. For example: flipit.com/facebook.com.

3. Interactive content layer and community engagement:

Users can access "the back" of websites, where they can interact with additional layers of content by verifying authenticity, leaving comments, or sharing insights. This community-driven interaction ensures content transparency and trust. Users can engage by voting on credibility, contributing reviews, and joining discussions.
